How Do I Do Design?
A co-presidential platform by Julie Davis + Emily Tsay

We heard you
have some pretty
big design dreams...

Design Sprints
2-5 day rapid problem-solving sessions commissioned by different clubs, events and programs
so we came up with a few ideas
for HaasID that we think might help with that
Learning
Doing
Living

(aka our platform)

Learning:
Offering a connected and comprehensive
Design Tools Workshop Series
taught by experts

e.g.
Design Thinking Crash Course
A general intro to design thinking in all walks of life early in the year

e.g.
Visualization & Prototyping Workshop
A session on designing cool stuff quickly

e.g.
Data & Storytelling
A session on understanding how data impacts design

And...
Working with you to add the sessions you want to learn the design skills you need

Doing:
Collaborating with clubs,
outside schools and local businesses to solve real challenges

e.g.
HaasID Consulting
A program that allows companies to engage HaasID members in a semester-long design challenge

e.g.
Design Sprints
2-5 day rapid problem-solving sessions commissioned by club leaders and event organizers

e.g.
Cross-Campus Partnerships
Partnering with the Jacobs Institute, Lester Center and others to gain access to super cool stuff

Living:
Creating more opportunities
for you to use design in real life
(a.k.a life after Haas)

So let's explore branding agencies,
in-house design teams, traditional roles within innovative firms...
But design & innovation can happen anywhere

There are only a handful of jobs at IDEO, frog and SY/P...

and take HaasID everywhere...
